Training

As a club we train twice a week, with each session focused on a different aspect of lifesaving to help improve your skills. Our Training Officers are qualified as RLSS National Lifesaver Academy Instructors. Come to whichever sessions interest you!

Monday: First Aid Training
19:00-20:30 at High Tor 3, The Edge

This session is used to teach first aid skills that can be used if you should ever find yourself in an emergency. In order to practice these skills, we will run through Simulated Emergency Response Competitions (or SERCs) in teams, similar to those used at university competitions.

Tuesday: Wet Training
19:30-21:00 at Goodwin Swimming Pool

On Tuesdays we meet at Goodwin Swimming Pool on Northumberland Road. This session is primarily used both to improve fitness and teach the various speed events in lifesaving competitions such as manikin carry, as well as to practice water rescue skills for SERCs
