The next committee member to introduce himself and talk about his lifesaving experience is Peter Woodmancy.
"Hi! I’m Peter. I’m currently taking my third year of Biomedical Science and I’ll be the Treasurer and SERC Training Officer for the club this year!
The first time I experienced aspects of lifesaving was when I took the NPLQ course to become a lifeguard, but I had no idea that competitive lifesaving was a thing until my second year of university when I found the club at the sports fair. Before joining the club, I’d never taken part in any swimming or lifesaving competitions but now I’ve come to really enjoy the competitive side of lifesaving!
This year I want to make sessions as fun as possible while preparing members for competitions and to take qualifications such as Survive and Save. As treasurer, I want to aid in reducing the cost of competitions for members as well as searching for sponsors for the club. I’m really looking forward to this coming year and working with some amazing people to make this club the best it can be!"
