Last but not least, the final committee member who will be introducing himself is Jonathan Hancock! He is be this year's Inclusions Officer, and RLSS Liaison, a position which was newly introduced at the last AGM.

"I’m Jonathan and I’m the Inclusions and RLSS Liaison officer this year. I’m a second year aerospace engineering student and have been in the club for 3 years. I also did lifesaving before university, since the age of 11, not that you’d know it!

My favourite lifesaving moment is honestly so hard to pick – freshers’ comp and last year’s BULSCA Championships spring to mind. I’ve had so many wonderful moments and experiences in training, socials and competitions, it’s impossible to pick just one.

As Inclusions Officer, I will work to maintain inclusivity at our training sessions and socials, making sure they're suitable for everyone. As RLSS Liaison, I want to get the club more involved in the campaigns and events that the RLSS run in hopes to promote the prevention of drowning."

Find out more about the roles of each committee member in the 'The Committee' section of our website.

We hope you've enjoyed reading about our committee members and that it has inspired you to join Lifesaving! We look forward to seeing you in September. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask one of us on Facebook or by email. Email: lifesaving@sheffield.ac.uk
